LIGHTHOUSE VILLAGE

Belonging and connection are the guiding principles behind our work on Lighthouse Village. This residential community is designed to be affordable, accessible, and transformative for the people who call this place home. A mix of private residences and community gathering spaces promise to create an atmosphere that is both peaceful and dynamic.

Lighthouse Village features 28 residential units, communal spaces, and an on-site clinic to promote the mental and physical well-being of the community. Much like a lighthouse, this development aims to illuminate a path forward in life for the community’s residents.

We pay special attention to the experience of coming home. With the building visually separated into multiple sections, arriving residents can instantly see where home is. From inside, residents can see the gathering spaces outside and feel connected to the community.

Landscaping and building elements connect the housing building to the site and the environment around it. The cedar siding and shakes on the exterior are a familiar sight on the Oregon Coast. While this project uses techniques and efficiencies typical of modern construction, the local design elements keep Lighthouse Village rooted in place.

The “Lighthouse” takes physical form in the entryway to the building, a tall open space with views of the on-site community areas.
